Projects 1940 Ford Sedan Build

    I'm build a 40 Ford Sedan that my grandpa had I'm going to run a 9 in rearend and looking to go with a mild built 327 sbc and looking for options on a 5 speed manual transmission something that is quick but will cruise down the highway any tips are appreciated thank you

    I assume your talking about an overdrive transmission so you need to be real careful about the rear end gears your running. You might consider an automatic over drive. I don't have one in my truck just a turbo 350 behind my 327 but I have a 3.08 rear end and it cruises at 60 mph turning 2200 RPM and gets of the line pretty quick.

    I'm building this car in memory of my grandpa and he loved shifting gears and getting after it that why I was looking more for a 5 speed even considered just going with a muncey 4 speed as well
