Technical 1940 Ford hood supports

Anyone got a picture of how these are supposed to go on. I am either doing it wrong or mine are bent.

We will need more info. The hoods on 40's are notoriously hard to line up. Has this hood been mounted on this car before? Is the hoods mounting structure undamaged?Pictures would help.

 

Purplehipower, I just took a bunch of photos of hood hinge photos on my 40 Ford
and can email them to you if you so desire. I sent you a PM.

 

For starters, be sure and read ALL the info. on the link below. It covers front end sheet metal alignment. Hood fit can be difficult, especially if components are worn out or hinges have been removed and then reinstalled. You must have the patience of a toothache to make it all work.
