Hot Rods 1940 Ford adapter and consesus master cylinder.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by thomasanonymous, May 7, 2016.

  1. Hello. Good morning. I have purchase the Speedway disc brake conversion kit for my '40 and the Chassis Engineering adapter AS-2021. It has a 3 1/4" bolt pattern. I need a good one inch bore non-power disc drum master cylinder that is compatible. What's the best one? I hate Mustangs but I will buy one if that's the consensus opinion. I have a '68 Corvette m/c but the pattern is 3 7/16". Thanks!!!!!

One resevoir for the brake fluid is larger than the other on these MC's. Which one is for the front discs?

    Thanks!

  5. The larger of the two is for the front disc brakes. HRP

Why not call Speedway and see what they recommend for THEIR kit?

I bought my Mustang type MC from Speedway. Works great with my 9 inch drums on the rear and disc brakes on the front of the Forty. I did have to make a blistered cover for clearance though as it is taller than the stock MC.
