Hi guys hoping y'all can help me out. I have a 39 Pontiac I have always wonders what , if anything went in the hole of the nose cone. I recently came across a picture that further raised the question. Is the plate/decal original or something the owner of this car did custom?

If original where could I get my hands on one?
    Thanks[IMG]

That plate/decal is original to the car, had one on my '39, but have no idea what the hole was for either...

On my 49 caddy, I read that the two holes, one on either side of the radiator, was to let the horn sound resonate up under the big hood.
    Merry Christmas to all.

  6. Covered hole was to be able to get into nose to get at bolts to remove nose . There were many GM models that had up to two of them . The holes were covered to have good air flow to radiator .

I came here to say this. It's for access. My '54 Pontiac had two of them. If I remember correctly one was to get to the radiator petcock.
