Bob i have a windshield frame that might be for that truck. if i remember i will give it to you tomorrow to try.
I need to get some 38-39 guys to confirm it is the correct one. Seller said it fit 37-39, I can see that there must have been a center bar at one time. Wonder how much the rubber gasket covers? I'll cut a piece of thin plywood to fit in place of the glass to check things, think the top may have a slight bend. Glad the stainless slips are on the side joints. It has a nice warm used part look to it, and no rust.
My 39 has the windshield reg coming out the top of dash and has the ashtray in the dash ? What gives . Anyway great project . Got a frame you can have if you want to come to Texas .LOL ! Blue
The 1938 Deluxe hood and fenders arrived last week, I've had the grille and side panels since mid summer. This whole build started the minute I saw this photo posted on the HAMB. Bob
The plan is to wash the hood and fenders and just put them up in the attic over the garage, I want to get the cab fixed and in primer with all the related bits found and finished. Maybe upgrade the right front fender, I have to come up with the funds to cover the drivers door I found. A rolling chassis will turn up some time, but I have enough to keep me busy for a long time now. Bob
I don't think so, I'd get to the point of wiring it, that would cause the fire, and all that work would go up in flames. Bob
Bring it by my place and i'll do it....my T hasn't ever blown a fuse (the driver has) so all good. JW
View from the attic were the hood, grille and fenders will get stored. The counter top material to the right will get installed in the basement, it's good to get organized. Bob
Ford made a running change on windshield frames in '38. All '37 frames and most '38 have the seam where the frame comes apart to install the glass at the mid-point on each side. On late '38 and all '39 frames. the seam is closer to the bottom. That's a detail that only a bone-stock restorer would care about, and the early and late style windshield frames will interchange.
Work the dents out of the top and fix the hacked up cowl areas is job one. Collecting the missing parts is the fun part right now. Bob
Three weeks away from turning 66 and I can still roll a body over by hand to inspect the bottom. Few stress cracks that will get TIG welded, need to order a body block kit. NO ROT, off to the blaster in the spring after the dents get worked out, and cowl hack works gets replaced. Bob
I see floor space......well a little bit. There is one of what you are building for sale I New Zealand at present, will try and load up a pic of it. JW
If all goes well there will be a lot of open floor space by the end of the weekend. Plan to move stuff around in the basement and move some things out of the garage into the warm basement for the winter. Bob
Getting ready for winter, cab will get rolled in the corner in front of the A, Steelback body will go into the basement. I'll have a full empty bay for the '12 T and room to fix that overhead door and redo the back wall, and finish hanging sheetrock. Sure would be nice to be taping rock and painting everything in the Spring. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! Bob
Just ran across your thread again. I owe you pics of the running boards, you still want the pics? I also have metal door panels.
Going to turn this $5.00 C clamp into a door pin remover. About time I got the passenger door off. Bob
Somehow I've missed this thread for a few months, so I just got caught up. Like your basement floor, good things take time, but I reckon you need to get this one finished, as it could be an easy build, and it looks so good with the 38 front.
