I'm turning 50 this month so I got myself a bday present. 1939 ford coupe sbc 350/350 powered, 8.8 rear on paralel leafs , dropped front axle with disks. Drove it home today and really love it , handles like a dream but stil has the hot rod feel. For now I will just put some more miles on it. Happy with it !
NICE!!! Happy birthday! I've got a birthday coming up......... I'd certainly like one of those for my celebration!
Noice! What a feeling it is to have a car like that in the garage... I still just stare at mine... Congrats!
Very nice! I'm always amazed at how the addition of dual exhaust and the elimination of the trunk handle/license bracket improves the rear of these cars. Enjoy!
Got it made! Great looking car. IMHO the '39 Deluxe coupe is the best-looking pre-war model Ford ever made and the stance on yours is perfect. I've had a couple '39s including a Deluxe coupe like yours with the same suspension setup, and you're right. They handle just fine. No need for a hi-tech front suspension swap when the basics will take anything you throw at them and just keep rollin'. Enjoy the ride!
Very cool and happy birthday! I can’t imagine that there are very many 39 coupe’s in the Netherlands?
That looks to be a very nice car and Happy Birthday! "Not change a thing"? Well maybe something. In my opinion, one of the best features of the '39 Ford are the headlights. I would lose the '40 headlights and go back to a stock configuration. While the '40's are attractive in their own right and may have been installed to provide sealed beams, they aren't nearly as good lookin' as the originals. With the technology available today, they can be made to provide lighting performance that is the equal or superior to sealed beam technology.
