Hey Rikster, You forgot this home grown Mercury built by Maus Gastonidis. Aluminium body on a Merc chassis for racing. It,s at Aaldering in Brummen. NL. Gastonidis invented the speed camera. Figure that out, a racing driver invented the speed camera.
Thats a real coachbuilt look. (Koachbuilt?) Do you know who built it? I quite like that last car too. Different, but not bad at all.
The car was designed by industrial designer Albrecht Goertz from New York. He had the car built on a Merc base. The Front fenders are stretched and the rears come from a Lincoln.
Here's my "New" Convertible. Untouched since the early 60's. Has a white diamond tuck interor, chrome garnish, spots, and a floor shift. I guess you could call it a mild custom.
Wow im glad to see that picture I didn’t take any that day. I was driving that 40 that day. that’s my dads ford next to it. Wow its strange to see it with the 14’s. right after that I put 15’s on with wider whites and sombreros and raised the front 2'', it looked a lot better. Rik PM me if you want more info on that car. It's kind of a old one.
Rik, this Tudor begs to have the rear side window blanked out to make a Sedan Delivery, of course still chopped and with skirts. Can you do it???? Keith
I heard rumors of you finding this car and was looking forward to pics of it...and it looks great. I think we need some more pics!
I REALLY like that one. Great looking chop. Still has the lines of the original. Just lower and smoother. If I ever chop mine that's the look I'd want. Very nice
Does any body make a glass rear for a roadster? I would keep this I could get one, why isnt there a market for any repro stuff?
this one sure is nice isnt it? Anyone have photos of the 40 Mercury from the last GNRS? That was a nice car too
It was chopped by Dick Dean and was on a Olds frame (kind hacked) Now back on a merc. frame. The guy that owns it just lets it sit and go to shit. (calls it his "hotrod")
