    Recently Sold my 49 Cosmo.I decided to find a new project and Finally Found a 39 Merc Coupe..Car came from New Mexico..I am amazed at the metal..I am a firm believer in desert steel..Can't wait to start digging in...Will post more pics soon..Thanks..Drew

    Cool! Looks like a great start, these look AMAZING as 40s-early 50s era customs.

    39 grilles have stainless molding over a mild steel structure and are fairly easy to work with unlike 40 grilles which are pot metal. One of the advantages, but not quite as sleek looking.

    That's a hell of a nice starting point for a great custom. One of those cars that a properly chopped version makes the stock version look like it has something wrong with it though.

    I would check out the one Rudy started and low springs shop finished. Also,sledge's merc is BADASS too. There are quite a few on the HAMB Merc Club Thread. Almost traded mine for a '39 when I first got it. I'll get one someday.
