Recently Sold my 49 Cosmo.I decided to find a new project and Finally Found a 39 Merc Coupe..Car came from New Mexico..I am amazed at the metal..I am a firm believer in desert steel..Can't wait to start digging in...Will post more pics soon..Thanks..Drew
Cool! Looks like a great start, these look AMAZING as 40s-early 50s era customs. what are your plans for it?
Congrats! Got my 39 coupe last year. It's currently waiting in line to get a full make over. Keep us updated on your progress - I'll be watching...
39 grilles have stainless molding over a mild steel structure and are fairly easy to work with unlike 40 grilles which are pot metal. One of the advantages, but not quite as sleek looking.
That's a hell of a nice starting point for a great custom. One of those cars that a properly chopped version makes the stock version look like it has something wrong with it though.
That thing is clean! Great score! One of my dream cars for sure. Check the Rudy Rodriguez Merc. for some inspiration. Sent from my iPhone using TJJ
fuck you- fuck you- jealous- fuck you-not fair-fuck you-I want one-fuck you-and....oh yea FUCK YOU!!!!!!! hahahaha! Obviously,i'm FUCKIN JEALOUS!!! One of my favorite cars,EVER! I would check out the one Rudy started and low springs shop finished. Also, sledge's merc is BADASS too. There are quite a few on the HAMB Merc Club Thread. Almost traded mine for a '39 when I first got it. I'll get one someday. Looks like you found a nice one. (disreguard all the FU's)haha!
Great ride ! Even from the factory the "B" pillar's on these are cool. Jonnie King www.legends.thewwbc.net
