SOLD 1/28/17 1938 Pontiac 8 Touring Sedan Model 28. FRAME-OFF RESTORATION, CONCOURS SHOWN !! Phantom Gray Metallic/Tan broadcloth. Full frame-off restoration performed to a high standard several years ago holding up extremely well. Concours shown summer 2015. Underneath looks almost as nice as the body. These 8-cylinder Pontiacs are rare today and feature a longer hood and front fenders than the 6-cylinder models. They also have many different badges, trim pieces, and a different Indian Head hood ornament. The straight 8 was so good it was used essentially unchanged until 1954. Rare, authentic wheel covers and new Coker radial tires. The chrome plating is beautiful. Synchromesh 3 speed transmission with optional column shift with a Tenite shift ball. Hydraulic brakes. Optional radio was working well but has recently stopped. Also equipped with an optional heater and defroster. Runs drives and stops smooth and straight. Will cruise all day long at 65 mph on Interstates. The new Coker 6:50-16 radial tires transform the steering and handling for comfortable use on modern roads.
