A friend who is working on 38 Ford coupe asked me today if the front hubs from a 39-48 Ford would work on his coupe? I didn't know, so I just looked at Van Pelt's web side and those years use the same bearings and races. Does any one know if there is any difference in the spindle lengths which might change where the bearing races might sit in the later year hubs?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Should work just fine. Acutally 39 hubs should be the same as 38 with the wide 5 bolt pattern. The bolt pattern changed in 1940 to the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern. Either way they should work with the 37 and later spindles.

The only oddball wide-5 year was 1936.

  5. '37-'39 drums and hubs are the same and will interchange with '40-'48. There are two different styles of front hubs/drums on'40-'48, but they take the same bearings and will interchange.
