Found a 4 gauge aluminum plate at a swap meet, put a little swirl to it, Dash prior to paint.jpg SW gauges.jpg then some S W gauges
also at another swap meet. The steering wheel was $10 at yet another swap meet.
Enjoyed being a swap meet rat; something to do back then,

20+ years ago when I had a blown sbc in the car, the wife was going to race it.
Some friends were reluctant so I put these stickers on the car [pretty funny].
She IS a driver! Powder puff my ass 2.jpg Powder puff my ass.jpg They didn't race her.
She's been driving the coupe and the 30 pickup [4-speed].
    One for the ladies,

When I found the front clip off a race truck in So. Ca. I had to cut a hole in the hood.
That was a measure 15 times, cut once...
I had borrowed my friend's plazma cutter, used a piece of card board for a guide.
Kept the piece for whatever reason,

I now what your sayin Mick about measuring 15 time an cutting a hole in the hood. My hood was finished painted when I decided to change motor combos. Stock 350 with a 177 charger to a 383 with a 671. It was very hairy when the first cut was made. I was real sick to my stomach My buddy had to drill the corners first. Once that was done figure I couldn't screw it up any worse lol.... 20180929_103550.jpeg 20180929_104454.jpeg 20180929_131859.jpeg

Glad to hear I'm not alone!
I think I had a couple of beers to calm me down before I actually did the cutting.
    Nice engine upgrade,

Tail lights, pretty sure a 1941 Indian motorcycle tail light is the same as a 41 Willys.
    Has this been discussed before?

15 of us [15 cars plus wives] met up at 7:15am yesterday then cruised over to the Moraga Car Show.
Not too often do you see three steel Willys coupes together here in Northern Ca.
    Good photo op.
Our friend Ken won Best of Show with his blue coupe!

The light blue Willys has an interesting tilt front end, don't see many steel tilt front ends.
Well engineered. Moraga Car Show 2019 029.JPG

I was using a 60 Series B&M shifter but wasn't a fan of how easy it was to go to a higher gear
so a plate was made on a DCM.
Still don't like it and have since replaced it with a Hurst shifter.
It now sits on a shelf in the garage along with the magneto I removed and a few other parts. Shift plate.jpg

Mick, you need to send that up to Jim Sibley. He's going in for a little bit of body work himself in a couple weeks but once he's back up and running he would be able to have that pile looking like a Willys again in a week or so.

Hey Thor 1, I've got plenty of projects to keep Jim busy.
[The first shot is also from Rob in Canada, the rest I took here locally]. Garage art Rob.jpg Rusty wheel wells.jpg Firewall spare629.jpg

    Willys hubcaps...
think this would look good on a street car?
Or leave it as a lamp?
