    Sure...
the first springs I used were just a bit short causing the shackles to flop over, fortunately the
    fender didn't hit the tire.
They were Q1 springs from Posies.
The second pair were heavy duty so I thought I'd try them but they caused the rear of the car to sit way too high, they were the Q1H springs from Posies.
The current pair are Q1s again but I had them custom made 1/2" longer, perfect!

  6. Mick. Cool post on the springs. Posies is 4 miles from my place. I grew up with his kids, we all went to the same school and hung out with the same kids. Ken DUTCH Fenical , aka POSIE Has always been the top hot rod builder around here.

  7. Yea Mick. Hummlestown Pa. right outside of Hershey. Most of us can not afford a Posies car. LOL.

So much for writing checks, guess I'll never learn.
Had a leak at the pumpkin so I took it apart yesterday while the wife cleaned the wheels and tires.
Going easy with my back, I'll put it back together sometime this week, Mick Rear end leak fixed 003.JPG Rear end leak fixed 006.JPG Rear end leak fixed 008.JPG

  12. I watched a video a few years ago, they talked to Dennis about the car, its history, and a walk around. Dennis fired it up and gave lots of details about the old race willys. Was really good, its on you tube.

  17. This is great stuff Mick. I was aware of some of the story, but always enjoy reading and seeing this stuff. I heard years ago that Reggie Jackson offered Mike Cook a million dollars for the car, but he declined to sell. I do not blame him LOL. It should remain in the Cook family.

This is just a wonderful restoration of a historic Willys Gasser. It has appeared on display at our local Meltdown Drags a number of times over the years. I have always enjoyed studying it at each appearance.

  19. Fantastic Mick. I am studying the pics . I am glad it was restored and no longer like a street rod. Its amazing those interior pieces where still with the car and held up very well. Getting hit by a snow storm here, so your posts have made my day. :) Thank you.
