  2. I believe that red Willys coupe was owned by Angelo Greco who owned Bond Street Garage.

  11. Sorry loudbang but that is not a Stone, Woods & Cook car. That is the Big John Mazmanian coupe. Here's a color picture with Bones sitting in the car with his helmet on

Bones didn't drive a SWC car until the Mustang

    Hello,

In 1963-65, the Mallicoat Brothers came to fame with their twin turbocharged Willys Coupe in the B/Gas Class at various So Cal dragstrips.

The Mallicoat Brothers B/Gas Supercharged is on this list for a simple reason. It lacks a hood scoop, different from the other racers. This was the car that won the 1965 Winternationals B/GS class with a twin turbo 327ci Chevy small block. It felled the blown Hemi powered S-W-C Willys, in fact.

The twin brothers, both brilliant mechanical minds got hooked up with the guys at Garrett and magic was made. When this car went out and stomped the field, the brothers toured the country with it for a short time before giving the turbos back to Garrett (they were on loan) and going back to college.

But, then, there is only so much you can do with turbochargers, so the 671 was added with other modifications to boost the instant power.

LB, if you are talking about the patina I would say fake. Not sure why anyone takes a good looking car and tries to make it look ugly. If the ugly is earned it's perfect.

Faux! And since you asked, if you are going to make a car look like an old racer you should research the class. A "D/G" car with a 413" motor would have to weigh 4749.5# as per NHRA 1965 rules. I've seen a lot of Willys and never saw one that heavy.

    Designations: A/G, B/G, C/G, D/G, or E/G F/G preceded by car number

    • Class ‘A’ – 5.0 0 to 8.99 # per cu in
      Class ‘B’ – 9.00 to 10.49 # per cu in
      Class ‘C’ – 10.50 to 11.49 # per cu in
      Class ‘D’ – 11.50 to 12.99 # per cu in
