Almost finished with the rear fenders. They both came along faster than I expected.

G & G MOPARS Corona California. 909-825-1231. Ask for Ernie. Anything and everything old Plymouth or chrysler. I asked about Tailights and he showed me a drawer full of 36 Tailights with NOS lenses still in the box.

Good stuff. Working on a '33 coupe, unbelievable how much one model year only (or even half a year!) parts some of these old Mopars have.

So many good sources for the new Hemi with overdrive trans., sure hope you stick with that set-up. Metal work is looking great.

Look to buy a totaled Charger, Dodge truck, etc. and get the engine/trans, harness, etc. Maybe use the sound system and other parts in the build.
Cheaper than buying item by item from a wrecking yard or new crate parts.

I'd like to see how you plan on smoothing those fenders out. My doors look just the same. Will you be using a shrinking disc?

ya i use a combination of a lot of things. Ill use the planishing hammer, the shrinking disk, and just a hammer and dolly.

I got the dents on the front worked out. Now I just have to fix the tear on the side and this fender will be done.

very nice. that shows alot of pride in what you do. i guess that means you've never worked for the government lol

  21. Now that IS metal massaging at its best. How many man-hours will you have in the fender, and how will you go about repairing the tear?

I've got 10 hours in the fender at this point.

On the tear, i'm making a small patch with the bead pressed into it that will replace that section. Then before I weld in the patch I put in a new section of wire. Then the new piece gets re-rolled around the wire.

  24. That "short" amount of time speaks volumes for your skill level; probably take me 30 hrs.
and it would only look half as good. Your patch pics confirm the procedure for a similar
repair on mine. The rod insert ought to reinforce that vulnerable area well. Thanks

Thanks guys, im super happy on how the fenders are working out.

I finished up the front and rear fenders this morning. Got them bolted on the car so that we can finalize tire sizes and get suspension ordered.
