This is the next official build from Salt Flats Speed Shop. Its a 1937 Plymouth Sedan Delivery.

Overall the metal is in great shape. Really a nice car to start out with. The basic look for this car is a clean 60's feel. Probably going to go with Halibrand style wheels, big and little tires, and a clean paint job.

If anyone needs a nice complete original motor let me know. It turns over really easy, and has everything still on it.

Also if anyone has a nicer set of rear fenders let me know. These ones are really damaged. And if anyone has a nice grill, this one got hit in the front and it pushed it in really bad.

Here is the car, just got it back from the sandblasters:

Excellent, and totally different. So a Hemi would be the natural choice for power?

Ya, looking at doing a new hemi out of a dodge charger or something. The owner wants a car that's a great cross country driver. Something he never has to tune, just get in and drive.

The grille and fenders will be hard to come by. The rear fenders for the deliveries are unique to the deliveries, different from both the trucks and the cars. Those aren't all that bad considering, your best bet is probably to fix what you have.

Can't tell from the picture if you've got the car or truck style grille, the truck style (taller) is hard to come by, as a '37 Plymouth truck grille is a one year only deal. I feel your pain on that one, the '37 Dodge truck front grille is hard to source as well, as you can guess from my signature...

Good luck with the build, can't wait to see more on this one!

Yes, which is why fixing those fenders shouldn't be that big of a deal.

My point was that finding a better set of fenders for that body style will be difficult at best, not that he couldn't fix what he has.

Love it! Should make a killer driver for the customer and look way cool going down the road. That body is perfect, compared to the crap I've worked on. This is gonna be cool...

What a sweet project, sounds like some challenges getting grille etc. I have no doubt these dudes will do it very proud. Best of luck on this coolness. ~sololobo~

There's a guy down the street that specializes in old Plymouth. My dad is building a 36 pj slantback. He was looking for a speedo and windshield frame. I stopped bye and asked if he had any. He said yeah I got a few. Took me out back in the warehouse and within 15 minutes I had a gorgeous speedo and still Chrome windshield frame in hand. I'll stop by and ask about the parts and post his phone number when i do.

I got started on the rear fenders. First thing im doing is trying to rough out all the large dents and get the fender overall to the original shape. Then I can figure out what sections need to be replaced.

Hey, Chris, I'm going to follow this one closely. Save any Plymouth parts that the owner isn't going to use. Maybe we can work out some trades for parts I can use on my '37 Plymouth.

I thought it was very appropriate to ask about rare fenders. (that's how I found all my LaSalle boxes: Rare LaSalles sitting forever, waiting for a direction; up comes a guy asking..."Yeah, I'll sell it..." (haven't had anybody ask in 3 years)

Rare Plymouth panel fenders sitting somewhere more likely than another panel sitting around. Bet that radiator shell turns up too...

Glad to see it's the little straight-roof panel. (Most are the step-roof Dodges)
That is a pretty little truck. Glad it's you doing the work...

  24. Nice, unusual body style. I´ll be watching this.

Show us pictures of how you roll the fenders to get the dents out. I've never seen it done before. Or maybe video.

I have a 37 Dodge Grill Shell, should work for your build. I could use the Engine if it is an original the Serial Number located above the Generator would say T50 have a Star then some more numbers.

Do you have any pictures of the grill? Im definitely interested if you think it will interchange.

As for the motor it is the numbers your looking for. And the speedo put this at 63000 miles. Here is a picture of the number. The motor turns over by hand and has everything there.
