I've been driving by this car for at least 10 years. Sitting behind a house under some trees. Have stopped and talked to owner a few times, gonna fix it, have the rest of the parts in shed. I stopped asking. Today I drove by and the car has been moved out front and there's a half full dumpster by the house, No daily driver vehicles. I'm assuming... he'll never get to finish his car Looking for any history, chicago area, may have been a show car or a local ride with custom paint. I'm not pursuing the car. Located on route 71 few miles north of I80. If someone wants to track it down - I have no other info.
What a shame that's been let go so bad. I would bet if that was a drag car, Oswego drag raceway was its home track. There is afacebookpage for the track with lots of pictures. I have looked a hundreds of pictures there, but dont recall that coupe.
I guess I know what I'm doing today... I've seen this car dozen's of times, now might be a good time to ask about it.
Definitely sad they just let it sit out and rot. Maybe it is to the point that someone can save it. I would love to have a 37 Chevy coupe but sure don’t need any more cars at this point…
Damn shame its sat neglected ..seeing alot of light thru spots..looks rural area..Im in far west burbs myself.. Definitely a Project..
I thought every Tail Dragger was just a Gasser waiting to come out of hiding to save the world from the force's of Evil. Like Clark Kent when he goes into the broom closet and comes out as Super Man! LOL!!!
I was hoping you'd see this post, its pretty local, you probably have half the parts to whip it into shape
Never got the chance to go, something always was getting in the way. I really don't have the money, time, or skill's to do it justice anyway. I had plenty of good intention's for it, but like they old saying goes... The road to Hell is paved with good intention's!
