Hi all, I have a little bit of confusion going on....I have (2) 1937/1938 Chev. 1/2 ton pickups.... one is a complete truck which i know is a 1938.

    The other is a chassis that is a 1937 or a 1938.

The chassis is identical to the 1938 chassis "except" it is 1-1/2" longer in the mid section. Roughly between the rear cab mounting hole and the first set of box mounting holes. The cab (1938 cab in my avatar) fits great on the front (4) holes, the mid section holes are missing, and the back cab holes were about 1-1/2" off.

Problem is, the running boards are now too short, and the box has a larger gap between the cab/box.

Moving everything fwd. poses a number of issues, moving back is not an option..... possibly run the truck without running boards is an option (as it will be a gasser style), but my wife is short and will be the primary driver.

Question is, what kind of fram do I have here, some kind of commercial frame that is only 1-1/2" longer? like I said, everything else is pretty much nuts and bolts to the other frame.....

Yes, I did think 3/4 ton too but these frames have all the same mounting holes, suspension mounts, etc. that are the same.....even the susposions are/were the same....... one is just 1-1/" longer in the middle.... really scratching my head..

The longer by 1 1/2" frame you have is a 39-40 Chevy pickup frame.
    The 37-38 are 112" wheelbase, the 39-40 are 113 1/4", the 41-47 are 115".

Thanks much for the confirmation...I was beginning to suspect this after I looked on-line and saw the difference in wheelbase....

    Thanks guys!

Rustang, can you get me a measurement from front of cab to wheel centerline? I am trying to position a front axle with no front sheet metal. Thanks
