Tom H yes it was a 2dr ht some one cut the roof off, the floors were gone, fire wall hacked up & a badly grafted on 68 Pontiac front suspension. It was a good donor for this project.

If I new how to change the title I would. I like verity in the thread.

I love checking out yor work, but why not start a seperate thread for the Pontiac build (then when you have more progress to show on the roadster build, go back and update the thread)? You dropped in the fender repair bit and now with the Pontiac this thread is all over the place. A blog.

I cant make every one happy but at least I post lots of pictures with description's of what is going on & its easer for me to just run one thread time wise.

  11. At least you'll make me happy by posting this project. I really enjoy extreme metal working. I can't wait to see where you are going with this.
It inspires me to start another project!
    Thanks

I look at it this way if you don't post pictures of your work Or what you post is not up to at least the quality we do then you don't have a good reason to bitch about what I post. There are & will always be the arm chair builders that don't have the kahones to show there work but can knock other's work or tell every one how it should be done. That's my story & I am sticking to it, so to the guys who don't like my posts don't read it you are not obligated to. Other's sit back & enjoy hope you pick up a few tips.

    Danny,
I appreciate all the work it takes to stop and take pictures, write a caption and post. I've tried and it takes lot of time. So thanks Do you have a post on your welding and metal finishing technique ?

Ted I don't have a post it is pretty much the way most quality builders do it today. Almost 99% is tig welded better heat control less warpage to straighten then with a wire feed. All panels are butt welded unless it is a factory seam lap weld. We grind the welds down with hard disc to start then finish with a 36 grit rollock on the angle grinder smooth. Hammer dolly & shrink disc when and as necessary.

The left rear fin had a kink & pushed over about 1/2 inch from a previous incident.

Using the friction jack to push the fin over & the spitznagel gun to pull the kink out plus a little shrink disc on the outer edge to shrink it was realigned to straight.

  20. That IS interesting! I am anxious to see how you handle all of the glass. It is nice to see a project driven by imagination.
    Get back to work!

Nothing big today Max had to make a section where the rust mites had attacked the new quarter section. We need to get the quarters & doors squared away before we can do the roof. Its all about the correct procedure & the details to make this a top notch car & thats what the customer wants.

If you notice we are not using old crappy rusty metal to weld to its all clean that is just one thing that helps make the job easer & cleaner. I see way to many projects being built with out a though derust.
