This first piece is done. Now I have to make the piece that transitions over the top to meet up with the inner door.

You're killing me here. Now I REALLY want to drag home another rusty '36 body. Seriously, when I did mine, I wanted to drop the beltline on the door and body, like a "real" roadster, but I had no idea how to do the metalwork to accomplish that, so I simply rolled the top of the door over and capped it. It's not bad, but your job here shows how it's done. Now I know how to do it, that it CAN be done, and I've got a buddy with an english wheel.

I'm going to have to sell something...

It always amazes me that the areas that look straight forward to make sometimes are really tricky. Like the back side piece of this door top. It really messed with my mind to figure it out. Got it though, I guess just took a different approach than I have to deal with in the past.

Without going into the method too deep, can you give me a basic idea on how you formed the outside roll for the tops of the doors? I have an open car cowl, but no doors to suit.
    Thanks

Honestly I think I used every tool I have except the bead roller on that piece. Started on the english wheel to start to get it to curve, then the shrinker for more curve, then the planishing hammer for the smaller roll over the top, and then a ton of hand work. I made a template every couple inches off of the original roadster and used them to check against the piece I was making.

I like the way your car flows from front to back. The rear shot shows it best.

Ive been working more on the doors. I got the bottom of the inner door patched, and the skin re-flanged back on. Ive also started on the drivers side door top.
