So, after searching on here, there are not too many posts about 36 Dodge/Plymouths.

Anyone have any pics of 'em?

Check out the SkotyChops thread on the HAMB. His may be a '34-'35, but lots of good mods.

How do these compare in size to a 35/36 Ford 5-window? Bigger, smaller, the same?

    Thanks,

    gary

This is my first post, yeehaw. I'll try and add some pics of my barn find '36 Plymouth coupe. It is such a fine old original car [50 years untouched storage] that I've left it stock, except for a '58 Dodge L230 flathead-138 hp versus the stock P2 84 hp. I have 100's of detailed chassis, driveline, body pics if anyone is trying to assemble one. They are on a 112" wheelbase, weigh about 2700 lbs, and still have that narrow 30's look. Parallel leaves front and rear, nice tube front axle, 4.5" bolt pattern, hydraulic brakes, drag link, very drivable at 65mph. Now if it just wasn't so nice... I plan to build or find a 28-32 roadster or coupe project after I educate myself a bit more.

    Beautiful!

  19. Hey Skoty Chops...yer bringing that beauty to our show i hope ;)

  20. Notice that artists renderings--in 1936--show the mopars chopped, sectioned, lowered, lengthened, and grille tilted back. Many other ads for the 1936 models have a similar look--the custom look that is still popular after 3/4 of a century!

Since we are on this page. where is a good source for Dodge parts? I need winder rubber, and some other stuff.

  22. Man, can't remember now but used to order a bunch of parts from a real good place. You can get rubber and stuff from Steele Rubber Products.
    Try this:

    Finally, a thread about REAL '36s! :D

Steel Rubber has rubber for almost anything. They had rubber for the '26 Dodge coupe we did. I'm sure they have it for the '36. Also, PlyDo (www.plydo.com) has parts for '53 and earlier Dodge/Plymouth.

  25. Heres my 36 Dodge 440 six pac 727 with a 8 3/4 4.10 goes down the road great.

    Looks Great !!

    All MoPar, Great !!

I have a friend who's had one for years, just starting to Hot Rod it. Will be all MoPar, using 330 Hemi from a 56 DeSoto. I suggested he paint it black suede, as I painted my DeSoto shiny, and requires too much polishing and wiping.

  27. Thanks I have a 354 Hemi that was suppose to go in the coupe but the 440 fit so nice I took the easy way out.I wish I would have stuffed the Hemi and a stick in it,but maybe next time around.I've put over 20000 miles on this thing with zero trouble.I was going to paint it the color of the firewall but it's nicer not having to worry about the paint.Tell your friend that a 69 B body rear end fits good but would be perfect with a rear that was a inch shorter,I think the 66-67 rear ends were a bit narrower.

Yeah, I have 392 Hemi in my DeSoto.
I will forward the rear info to my buddy. He bought the complete 56, 65000 mile DeSoto (330 Hemi) for $300.00. I am encouraging him to use the push button tranny from the 56 in his 36. I think that would really be cool .
