Thanks. I am looking for small truck. My real question then is how does the 34 frame rail differ from the 32 rails other than wheel base and side indent?
As I recall, the shape of the rail is different (section where the rail meets the hood side panel) between the 32 PU and the 34 PU.
The contour and shape is all together different from top and sides, I dont have good pics to compare the two, but here is a couple.... below is a 32 on left and 33/34 on right. I will look for more that compare the two from head on... you can really see the difference. I would use the proper frame for the vehicle.
The 33/34 pu frame has the same shape as the car rails but has different holes for mounting the body, fenders, running boards and box. In our shop we keep both types of rails, sell a surprising number of pu chassis.
The frame diagrams are up though the URL for direct links have changed. Go to www.wescottsauto.com, click tech, click frame specs, then select the diagram to view.
Gee, other than the wheelbase and beauty mark, what is the difference between a 32 and 33-34 frame rail? Isn't that enough? If you want a 32, get a 32.
radiator mounts on top of cross member 32, in front/33-34. pu, 33-34 don't have holes in the sides. lot people use 33-34 pu frames for 33-34 highboys. clean. order a wescott catalog, look in the back pages.
Looking for 33/34 frame hole locations for funning boards and fender munting brackets. Anyone have them or could measure yours. I have a frame set up as a highboy frame and want to return it so I can run the fenders and running boards. Thanks
