Technical 1934 ford running board mounting

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Dodgejodge, Mar 8, 2020.

  1. Does anyone have any pictures of how the '34 pick up running boards are hooked up? I'm working with a '34 5w coupe on a '34 pick up frame. 20200308_165402.jpg

  2. Or what the difference is between mounting truck running boards and coupe running boards in '34 was...

  3. '34 car boards bolt to the side of the frame and have two small braces on each side that bolt to the bottom of the frame. If the truck frame lacks the correct holes (can't see them very well in your picture); maybe fit the fenders to locate the boards and mark and drill holes as needed. I'll see if I can get a picture tomorrow.

Lots of different holes between the car frame & the truck frame .

Pickup frames lack the running board holes. You can mount the rear fenders and bolt the running boards to them. Then clamp them to the frame, up against the bottom of the body and drill the necessary holes.
