No holes are drilled, but what goes in the whole once drilled?

    Rivet nuts?
    Caged nuts?
    Drilled and tapped plate?
    What did Henry use?

    Thanks,

Henry used 5/16 UNF round nuts electrically welded in behind the trunk inner. I think 33/34 and 35/36 hinge parts are the same.

Weld some plates on the back side and drill/tap them to match the hinge. 5/16 UNF sounds about right.

Not a good pic, and enlarging didn't help, but I'm thinking that they were like D-nuts. Rivnuts would work well I would think.

They were D nuts crimped in before the skin went on the outside. You will have to be more creative. 5/16 steel with threaded holes snuck in there some how and spot weld thru a 3rd hole in the center
