After searching threw the links posted by some fellow hambers I was able to come up with these photos!

The car seems to be at dragway 42 in all of the pictures but in different variations. Numbered/non numbered, hood scoop/ no hood scoop, mag wheels/chrome slots.

    Here is what I found!

There appears to have been other colors before it was painted gold. from what I can tell these are the colors in the order in which they were applied. black(henry ford), navy blue, red, light metallic blue and finally gold. The car appears to have been raced in this configuration in both gold and blue as there is blue paint on the fire wall. This might be leading to why it has the blue lexan windows. I was also able to find remains of some light blue headliner n the car which leads me to believe it was a street/show car before it was converted to a drag only car.

You can see the blue on the firewall in this picture

Here is the piece of the remaining headliner

That is a good find. I saw it for sale on the internet and was surprised it took so long to sell - the price was very reasonable. Look forward to seeing your progress.

Great story, the power of the interweb!

  8. Very cool. But I guess now the question is what you plan to do with it. You probably had a certain direction in your mind when you bought it, but now you really can't just do whatever you want. You really would have to take it back to the way it was to preserve a little history.

However, it is always up to the builder, and I am just wondering which direction you might go. I hope more pics are found for you btw.

1970 rules stipulated it must have full upholstery in gas class..... so it may not have been a headliner left over from being a street rod but put in there for class requirements. Cool find and should be an awesome car to play with !!!

You must run a fully upholstered interior, so when that front cross member collapses, you wont scratch your helmet!

Awesome find. Do you have plans for it yet? Any particular build ideas in mind?

I'm still waiting on an update of that radical T sedan. Is your dad still active in building and fabricating? I heard he moved to Florida for a bit. Is he back in New Jersey?

20 years ago it would have taken years to uncover photos. With the web just hours! Congrats.

I had that on my watch list as well. Thought it looked like a good deal for the condition of the car. Glad someone on here got it.

My initial plan was to get it as close to the pictures that I have. Unfortunately a piece of property that I have been trying to buy has just become available for purchase. I will try and hang on to the coupe as long as my finances are there. if not it might be up to someone else to choose its destiny!

Rolled it outside the other day with the front end under it. Its and old chromed and slotted 40 style axle that someone had a reversed eye spring made for that goes on top of the axle.

Made a quick dash out of an old aluminum dragster wing I had laying around. tried to make it simple with a few gauges. Function over form.

I also made a seat mount for a single seat. I tried to make this as if someone would have done it 50 years ago. simple angle iron drilled out to the nines in another function over form style.

  25. That's what happens when you play with property money to buy old cars.
It's the same thing like the when the kids don't need to pee until they are in the car.
    Lol

    Good luck

I just found this thread, And I gotta tell you, You stole that car for what you paid for it!!......I could not believe that it stayed on the auction site as long as it did...I don't want to hear anyone ever say that 33-34 fords are out of their price range again!....If I would not have already had 5 33-34 projects here I would have bought it. Just the fact of it being such a cool old Drag car made it well worth the money IMO
Congrats on getting such a cool car, And I will be watching to see what you do with it.
