    Looking great! You were fortunate to start with such a solid body.
    Heads up; Heavy chop on a Model 40 5/w Coupe=lots off work in the quarter windows to keep the rounded openings "round" and not egg shaped with hard corners.

    Ha! My '36 Three window was going to be chopped 4-1/2". Ambitious first project ended up 5-1/4" in front, 6" in back, I was 13.
    Older mentor taught me to oxy-acet weld on that car, Mom wasn't pleased with the outcome..."Oh, WHY did you cut it down so lowww...?" Me: "Heck, Mom...So they could tell it's 'Chopped'!"
    Turned out, BUT: After I did my door tops, I could see what she meant.
    Looked like a WWl French tank.

  26. YES! There are 10,000 ways to chop a 33-34 top and my body man used a little different method at the back to escape doing all that cutting/welding at the sail panel....Not saying your method is wrong...just that we did it differently.
