Wow the car's looking better and better every time I revisit the thread. You must be really chuffed with it.
    All the best.

  5. Wow: That's all there is to it? I assumed there had to be more than "spray, wait 5 & Wipe"

I am definitely going to try this,

    Thanks!

Good score. I watched Matt's video earlier this week while salivating. At the end he asks viewers "Which one do you think I will keep and fix up for myself"
Well you just ended up with my guess. Now I will have to re-evaluate my guess.

Cleaned up the under hood blisters and started buffing the hood a bit. Looks like the lacquer will clean up

That looks so nice, bet it takes the Rolling Bones months to produce that look. Bob

I just noticed it's a trunk car too. That's a big bonus in my book. I'm not a big fan of rumble seats. I love it.

I saw several pictures .. both inside and out before I purchased it and knew it was solid. I expected there to be a little rust in the floor but it actually turned out to be better than I expected

WOW...that body is in great shape. Great job you're doing. I watched the video about a week ago and couldn't believe that stash! It's looking sweeter every step of the way.

That three window is a peach!
You must have a knack for finding great old tin, I remember a friend of mine was looking for a 34 grille for his 5w back in the 80's, they were hard to find (and expensive) even then.
Ended up getting one that needed a lot of teeth straightening and replating.

Pushed the car outside today for the 1st time since cleaning it up to eyeball from a distance. I cut up a model A headlight bar and made up some stands for some cool Dietz lights that I had.

Sits high but will soon be getting a dropped 32 heavy and a reverse eye spring up front. I'll be putting a quickchange in the rear with an A crossmember and reverse eye spring in the back 20210809_095953.jpg 20210809_100316.jpg 20210809_123553.jpg 20210809_123605.jpg

Looks great. It's hard to not be jealous of that eye-popping score. Congratulations!

I can't see any reason to keep any 3w unchopped. I hope you whack the shit out of that roof! :D

That car looks so cool as it is, just sitting there. To my eye that is a great look, sitting high and unchopped. The I just got this car and took the fenders off look. Probably almost always just a transitional phase, but a really appealing one to me.

So after giving this some thought @HomemadeHardtop57 I'm okay with you stopping any further work and selling the car to me at the stage it's at. My coupe is lonely in the shop all by herself and she needs a friend. As she can attest, we will give the 3 window a good home and be loving care takers. Contact me at your convenience to make arrangements. Thanks from north of the 49th! :D

Scored a nice Ford badge from Titus and buffed a small section of the quarter panel to see if the old lacquer would shine up. Resized_20210812_113835.jpeg Resized_20210812_113839.jpeg 20210812_125728.jpg 20210812_124327.jpg
