I have a new aftermarket windshield frame and a rubber gasket.

Is an adhesive supposed to be used in the windshield channel to secure the gasket, or does the gasket lock in another way?

I never use adhesive on my frame...The frame has a groove the rubber gasket fits in... I have never had a aftermarket frame so they may not be like the original ones.....I usually start at the corner and work my way around the frame...

There are only two companies that make a reproduction window frame for a 33, 34 Ford and they both use the same original type gasket. The gasket locks in place into the grove in the window frame without glue. Kind of tedious, but it goes better once you get the hang of it.

It is nice to have a new window frame so you don't have to dig all the old rock hard gasket out of an original frame. That is a giant pain in the dick.

    Thanks guys! That info helped.

I was not locking the lip in correctly before. it seems to be holding now.

I can see where a new frame would make it easier.

Bought the frame from CW Moss but the glass is original!
