need to know how to repair/replace the throwout bearing in my 33 dodge transmission/clutch assembly.

can the bearing be pressed out and replaced or do I need to find a whole new unit (throw out bearing)?

    thank you for the help. 20190805_210157.jpg 20190805_210202.jpg 20190805_210206.jpg 20190805_210211.jpg 20190805_210214.jpg

Looks a lot like an old Ford style, which is pressed off the guide and replaced. Maybe the Dodge parts houses sell the guide too, maybe not.

Hi. Look at these 2 websites as they specialize in old mopar. I bought a lot from both going thru my 50 Plymouth Deluxe. They should have what you need. Both have websites you can order from and both put out paper catalogs.

How does it feel? If it's still smooth, you squirt some grease in it, and use it again. I doubt you'll find a replacement bearing that's made as well as the one you have.

If I spin it, it makes sound, its for sure dry. you think if I grease it (which will take up the empty room where grease should go) it will be ok to still use? it does not wobble to terribly much.

Yeah, put some grease in it, and see how it feels.

They are supposed to have a bit of looseness when there is no thrust load on them.

In the old days they gave us grease fittings, instead of throw away parts. So use the grease fitting, instead of throwing it away.

Put the assembly in one hand & push the bearing into your palm with the collar. Slowly push & turn - any gritty feel, grind, or crunch & it's done. The zerk only lubes the collar, not the bearing.

    Jim,
I guess what I meant to say was I haven't run into one yet that greased the bearing & sleeve

I thought there was generally a channel for grease to get into the bearing. It's worth investigating.

So I will fill grease fitting and then also run grease around and in with my hand, then clean off and see how it feels.

You will most likely have to place the bearing back on the trans to grease it. These bearing are thurst not radial so a little looseness is expected.

Yup, definitely put it back onto the transmission before greasing. As you add grease, see how the bearing "feel" changes.
