A couple more of Jack Merkel.... I saw this car at Atco in 1968... Got a chance to meet Jack a few years back. Very good engine man...

I got to know Don on the Gas-Fx list...super person and very talented builder...definitely had a eye for what looked right...

Some pictures of my 36, found it in an ad in the Buy Lines, it was in a garage in Brooklyn NY in a million pieces. I put a 153 Chevy II 4 banger, PG and a narrowed 64 Chevy rear. Leather interior done by Lacey Hunt in Bayville LI. My wife and I drove 13,000 MI in 6 weeks all over the USA. 001 is in parkink lot of Indianapolis Speedway, 003 is Yosemite NP,
006 is last known owner in 92 Gary Budwick from IL after he rebuilt it. Wish I had that one back.

One of my all time favorite '33 Willys! I saw that car at Fremont in 1970. Totally badass. Thanks for this shot Hutch.

 

Thank everyone for your pictures....really great......I wish I knew how to post pictures, I have quite a few of my original build of what became the Hill Bros. 33....I bought the body and frame from Carl Hegge, when he was still in the 40 Willys pickup era.....I think some of you would enjoy them....

Would Rocky or somebody please post my favorite 33 Willys picture for everyone to see????? KS's steel 33 being loaded on the SS United States to go to England in 64????? I think that is one of the best drag racing pictures of all times.....

Fred, are you sure you bought the '33 body/frame from Carl? I always thought it came from Ed Cave/Chuck Stolze? Do you have any pics of Carls '33 or truck? Everything I had is long gone.

That is one COOL photo...! The USS United States is docked about five miles from my shop... Thanks for finding the pic Dave.... I was LOOKING..! lol
