Just doing some more mock-up. The engine is a cadillac 425. It will have a stromberg 6 x 2 setup with lake style exaust. It will be backed up by a 5 speed.

The buckets up on the cowl are going to house my gauges. Should have a different look.

So its been hard to find time to work on the pickup these days. Oh well, what can you do. Plus I am still looking for a 32 pickup grill and a few other things so that I can mock up everything in front of the firewall. That way I can build the rest of the frame to fit.

So this is the new oxygen tank that I will use for my gas tank. I didnt know that there were different sizes of oxygen tanks so this one is almost twice as big as the other one I had. This one will hold a little more than 9 gallons. That should be fine, plus I plan on carrying two jerry cans in the back of the bed for long rides. That gives me another 10 gallons.

Why not cut the caps off two tanks and make one big one? Just a thought.

I was going to do that with the smaller one. But I like the size of this bigger one. Its basically the same size as the opening of the rear window.

Still trying to find parts for the pickup. Its an on-going struggle, but thats whats fun.

These are some 32 headlight buckets that I just got. My plan is to have them super low, so that the bottom of the light is level with the bottom of the grill. Also have them tucked a little in front of the grill so that they block the sides of the grill a little bit.

Still looking for a 32' pickup grill if anyones got one.

I've finaly got some more money to get back working on the pickup.

I decided to use a 34' pickup grill that I had in the shop for now until I can afford a 32' pickup grill. The grill was rotten completly gone at the bottom. So I decided to move the bottom up 3" so I have 5" of clearence from the bottom of the grill to the floor. The bottom is completly new and it was quite a trick connecting all the bars and making it look good :)

For now I am waiting on the transmission adapter to come so I can bolt the engine and transmission together. Once I can do that I can start mocking up everithing from the firewall forward and get the rest going.

Ive been back working on the pickup. I got the front of the frame made and the engine mounted. It was a lot of work sleving the frame but it turned out the way I wanted it. Also the motor mounts were fun to make as well.

I am waiting on new front tires and rims to come so I can mount the spring and then the pickup will roll by its self! I am running the firestone dirt track tires on the front. They should look good with the hurst blackwall pie crust's on the back.

I also got the exaust. I will run a baffel system inside and probably have the end of the exaust curve and point down towards the ground.

Ive been working on the frame under the cab getting all the bracing the way I want. So now I can start mounting the cab and get the floor built.

I finaly got my front tires. That was a mess in shipping.

Also I built my drivers seat. I modeled it after an old bomber seat. My plan is for the whole truck to be antiqued like the seat is so that when you see it you will think that I found it built like this.

I was actually in contact with frank in building the seat. I wanted it to look authentic, and he builds the nicest seats I have seen.

Im afraid its the same old story. I guess I didnt fully realize that when I opened the shop I wouldnt have nearly as much time to work on my own stuff. But I cant complain cause im keeping buisy. So for now when I get any free time I work on my pickup. Then once its done ill jump back on the willys. I have to remind myself that, im young and i have many years doing this. So I dont need everything done right now :)
