Hey H.A.M.B.. picked up a 1932 Ford Coupe. Owner had minimal info on history, but here’s what I have. Original owner Charles Salter lived in Montana. Built car in ‘57. Original Henry Ford 5w coupe, 283 / Lasalle manual with olds rear end. Attended Riverside Drag strip in 61. Nephew acquired after uncle Charles passed. Car ended up in Las Vegas. Driven a few times then sat for a few years in cat infested garage.. looking to bring back to 1960’s condition. any information would be great.

    Thanks H.A.M.B. IMG_5730.JPG IMG_5734.JPG

Nice car. Looks like it might have chrome window moldings. Lets see some pics of the dash/inside and engine.

Did the cats get inside the car? If not, I can't imagine why you'd want to reupholster? That dash is to die for!

And what's wrong with a SBC if it's been there for decades?

  14. Get an ozone machine.

The carpeting is likely not going to be helped. If you can remove it, and its strong enough to be scrubbed, washed and rinsed completely .. you may be able to ozone machine the carpeting separately in a small unaccompanied closed room.

Otherwise, just place the ozone machine inside the car, and let it work for a day or three. You can scrub it up, before, or after. The ozone machine will remove most of .. and usually all odors.

Me .. I come from a mold remiation, roofing, construction, rehab background.

    I made a similar recommendation to @scotty t . He may chime in. Worked a charm !!

Good luck, in whatever you do. Cool car. Take care, & God bless.

If the chassis is decent, keep it as is but just clean it up a bit. It wouldnt take much to get that SBC looking 1960's. And give the ozone cleaning a try before you rip out that cool old interior.

About the only way to get that cat piss smell to go away is to let a skunk piss on it!

    What a great find...
garnish and dash are the cat's ass [pun intended].
    .
Buddy had a '40's GM sedan, was a cat house for years...
he jammed a rolled up towel down into both door jams, keeping them open, couple years that way....
you could walk by it and it still take your breath away...
we ford guys would kid him that it was the exposed GM steel stinkin to high heaven...
Found a really nice metal cooler just sitting beside the road... i backed up to it,
It had been some fisherman's live bait cooler, now a dead bait cooler... rank ! left it there.

I heard a rumor that burning a Sulphur cake would take the dead smell out of a Hearse. I would change the valve covers and air cleaner, maybe the wheels. Clean up the wiring(and kitty smells) and drive it

Congrats, SCORE!!!!! I’m with the other guys, do as KC states-remediate the kitty smell, it goes away(I have experience with this situation as my pal Glenn has Kitties that like to call my roadster their own as well as car covers. Wear a mask and you’ll get it cleaned.
As for the chassis..... This all depends on what you’re after? From what I read above, you want a nailhead Buick, a QC and perhaps a nicer modern chassis. If you decide to change out the chassis PM me. I have a totally disassembled 56 322 Buick that could fit your bill.
Personally I’d keep the chassis under it and back date the SBC to an earlier time, You’ve got a Bitchin Hot Rod there!!!!!! (Below is what was a older build that is now 2 different Hot Rods now, but were once the same Hot Rod, We got them together a few years back).

Quick Update. Pulled front end and motor out. Cat shit inside frame rails.. pressure washed 4x’s, bought an Ozone machine.(helped) thanks for the advise, cleaned cowl and deck lid gutters.... will repaint front of frame, paint floors, update some steering f100 box (I need a 57 - 60 pitman arm if anyone has a lead) Change front shock mounts F1, change wheels, then back together and drive it...

    Keep after it.
By the looks of your hood hooks and vent lid, you have a sort of early '32.
