Im just trying to keep it interesting 31vicky. Im not gonna lie just the trusses in the frame cost me 10lbs of welding wire, 2 1/2 bandsaw blades and about a month to complete. Ive been saving up pics till i had enough to post without being a slow tease

20160221_232943.jpg The rear floor needs to come up a few inches to cover the bumper brackets.

20160223_214504.jpg Mikey i would need the snowman to run blocker : ) thanks guys for the kind comments. Lets see whats next? Here she is bolted to her frame for the first time in a long time. 10 mounts so far and several more to come. Up front and rear is solid mounted like a 32 but the middle is on urethane biscuits

Message_1456769958202.jpg Now that the body is on the frame its time to start fabricating the suspension mounts. But first lets swap out that model A axle for something a little cooler. I picked up this V8-60 axle awhile back. These things are pretty hard to track down and this one probably was under a hot rod cause its been chromed! Actually i dont think its been ran since chromed because the kingpin holes are a few thousands under. After a few hours of careful honing with the smallest brake hone i could find.... Finally the pin fits!

20160227_155518.jpg About this time i borrowed some slicks from Tony for a look. I was sure these would be the perfect size. Until i got them in the fender. They look a little small to me

That axle is really gonna set that front end off to a real beauty! There's an ongoing dispute however, on the compatibility of tube axle and split radius rods or hairpins vs unsplit rods or 4 bar. Beam axle will twist more easily than tube, and split rods or wishbones tend to twist axle when chassis is leaning in relation to axle, as in a turn when leaning, etc.
Next time you encounter tight king pin holes, whether in spindle or axle, find a shop with the good old Sunnen pin honing machine and the right size stone. With the right man on the machine, pin fits are the best possible.

You are doing fantastic work and I can't wait to see this one on the track. I love Vicky gassers but you don't see them often

20160228_160938.jpg Now this is what im after! Fills up the fender perfect. Ok so now we know what size slicks she will wear. There will be some hanging out in the wind but thats old school.

Thanks Elgringo and Dirty ol Man i think it will be ok for a track car. Could be an issue on the street but you know guys have been doing it since forever. Lots of threads and opinions on the subject.

20160125_194436.jpg Sorry i kinda skipped this. Before i did the subrails for the floor all the door gaps got set and then i welded the doors shut. Gotta keep everything in the right place so the gaps are nice.

  25. Not sure the width of that axle compared to the A, but one thing on my list is to narrow my A axle about 4". With disc brakes my tires are under the fenders, but just barely. I think tucking the tires in would look mucho bettero. Your car is looking pretty darn nice already.

Message_1456781167835.jpg Heres the next problem. With the nose bleed stance we got goin. The bone hanger brackets would need to be 11 inches below the frame! Kinda stupid looking. What to do???

20160304_152050.jpg Thats the ticket! Now they are only 4 inches under the frame! I can live with that. Time to pie cut the ends for some caster. I ended up with about 8 1/2 degrees at 4" below the frame
