Hot Rods 1931 Model A The Harbor Kustom's Coupe, A "Bonneville/Rolling Bones" style build!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HarborKustomSpeedShop, May 5, 2014.

  1. Had to push it outside again today to get a look at the new hood top profile. Also need to move my English wheel to try my hand at making a roof skin. More on that once its wheeled out (hopefully it works). Anyways here's the picture from a little bit ago.

and the start of the roof skin

Man! I am loving that hood! The extended length & the louvers look great. Thanks for sharing how you did it too.
  8. Thanks you!

    thanks Jim!

    Thanks man, no problem.
  9. Got the seat built, back and the bottom will be foamed and upholstered in black vinyl with pleats. However I also thinking of diamond tuck stitching with smooth borders, the diamonds will be sallow(depth wise) if that makes sense ?

Laidout53, thanks for sharing your build (so far). I really love the proportions of the stretched hood which, along with just about everything else is near perfect. Did you have to 'roll' your hood-top louvres to fit the curve in the hood? Those louvres are so sweet.
    Looking forward to more updates.
  21. Thanks @dad-bud, yeah I had to put a slight arch to them in order to match the hood.
  22. excellent build, looking foward to more updates.
