Real nice....how about a shot straight in from the front....love the relationship of the grille shell and tire location!

    Sorry wrong thread

  14. Worked on the coupe this weekend and got the front A pillars welded and gaps corrected, also metal finished the rear section by the back window. Had to shrink the metal down with a torch and remove the "oil canning".
Also finished up the gussets for the rear hairpins and got them tacked in place.
tomorrow I plan on welding up the screw in A pillar pieces and cutting the header panel down on the ends then the chop will be done!

    Anyways here's some pictures

I happy with the way it turned out, the area by the rear window was the hardest. Ive never used a torch to shrink metal and remove "oil canning" so that was stress full..

Let me know what you think?

Justin, top and gaps look great. You should have went to "Gas Monkey" and showed them how to chop a Model A top....Jim

  18. You have birthed my favorite look. Congrats oh rod father. I love that style. Of course, all will say traditional stuff....which of course it is....but not everyone THEN nor NOW nails the look that I perceive as perfect. Great work man.

  19. thank you

90% tig I did do a little mig on the A pillars were the upper hinge was and other random areas. Thanks!

Haha Thanks Jim, Ya im glad I didn't have to go threw all that trouble
to get mine to fit together.

Thanks man, glad you dig it!

  20. Well I finally got around to getting the clutch linkage hooked up, had to notch out the x-member in order to get the pedal to travel far enough. also got the steering box mount modified to work for side steering and made a riveted cover for the frame where the shaft comes out. Yesterday I fixed the bad patch job where the old filler used to be in the cowl that the previous owner did. also welded the cowl side seems.

    Initial mock up

modified mount and final placement (still need to trim down)

this is what I came up with to strengthen the area I remove for the clutch arm clearance
(will weld in once the body is removed)
