    Hello All,

Just thought I would post an update on my roadster project. I have not touched this project, except to move it to my new garage, for over a year. Well that all changed yesterday. I finally started back on it. I had to change some things I previously did incorrectly. My front crossemember was too flat. I added a couple more degrees to it. Now it sits at 7 degrees. I also had to change the front of the top I made. I didn't like the way the windshield mounted to the front. So I started cutting. That's about as far as I got.

I also decided to merge the two threads I have going on the car. You will find them below. I will post some progress pictures soon.

    See Ya,
    Mike

Here are a couple of pictures from the crossmember change and the wishbone angle change. I really don't like doing things over again!

Had some time yesterday to work on the car. I made front mounts to attach the top to the windshield posts. I also changed the way the rear of the top mounts. This will help simplfy the upholstery. I changed them from inside to outside the lip of the top.

Never mind about the model a tails haha. Couldn't see the pic very well on my phone didn't realize it was a 33-36 taillight. Regardless they are a nice touch that you don't see often.

Ya, the pics are small. I have been taking them with my phone. I'll try to post a bigger size from now on. As for the lights, I used a universal rubber gasket I found at Ace to seal them to the body. They look pretty good.

I looked back in the older threads for this and couldn't find it. Were these rails pinched for the model a cowl? Looks like the cowl is sitting on top of the frame but i don't really see the "gap" under the doors.

The frame isn't pinched. I set the body down over the frame when I made the floor. I also got rid of all the wood in the floor.

Do you have any other photos of how you reworked the front of the floor/cowl feet?

The feet are on the top of the frame. I lowered the back of the body down until the gap was gone. Then I made my body to frame mounts. This is the second roadster I have done this on. I don't know if pictures will really show what I did. I have seen people notch the front feet and set it down over the frame.

    Update:

Friday I spent all day mounting the engine to the transmission. Most of the day I was driving around getting bolts, nuts, washers and exchanging parts that didn't fit. Another chunk of the day was spent looking for parts that were moved from the other garage. Kind of frustrating, but in the end the job got done. One more step closer!

I think the pictures should be bigger now. Done especially for squinty.

I know it's been a while since an update. I have been having trouble posting pictures. Now I have the cool HAMB ap on my phone , so I'm going to try posting pictures from it.

Work has been steady. There have been a few set backs but nothing that can't be dealt with. Right now the trans is out and in the shop. It would lock up in reverse. I'm also barreling an overheating problem. Should have some answers next week.

Thanks guys. I'll get some pictures of it with the top on and painted. It buffed out pretty well. Very shinny.
