For Sale: 1931 Chevrolet 5-Window Sport Coupe. Last licensed in 1977 and was a running and driving machine at that time. Fuel tank smells nasty, I have not attempted to get it running, plus I don't have keys for the ignition. Appears to still have it's original 194 CID 6 cyl engine. Engine stamping matches number on title. I have not looked for the block casting number to verify if it was born with this engine. Engine turns over easy and the oil is clean and fresh looking. Trim tag decodes as follow: original body color is black with Aurora Red pin striping on the hood, body molding and wheels. It was built in Janesville, WI and came with plush upholstery and a cotton velvet headliner. Appears to have good bones, side windows crank up and down as they should, 3 of the 4 fenders are very solid, needs new floor metal and wood replaced around the doors. Rest of the wood is hidden by upholstery. Roof insert has been filled and it wasn't done to look good up close! This at least saved the wood roof slats which are still there. Frame is solid with only surface rust. Correct rumble seat trunk lid and rumble seat is missing. This old Chevy would make a decent rod or restoration project. Comes with an extra used radiator and grill shell along with 4 new tubes and two new tires that were purchased at Iola probably in the 80's. Price is $4,800. Not desperate to sell so please refrain from throwing me a ridiculously low offer. I've already had a couple of $4,000 offers. Looking for more.....It looks good sitting in my garage, maybe I'll even wash it one of these day! Call 715-630-7516 for more info.
