The body looks much better un buried and out of my garage ..It made a a good storage area , but will make a great ROD .. project is progressing nicely.. I have a second Chopped top 29, as nice as the one you got only with a filled roof , for when your ready to do a twin to match your brothers...

My brother fabbed up a bracket using a 7/8 shaft to use factory model a pedals .. We still have a few tabs to weld on but this way it will look real old school. He did a nice job. They work great and will be nice when they are all finished up . I tweaked them to fit around the column also.

I have not updated in a while.
Been super busy on this car.. The car is completely fabbed up.. The pedal bracket came out amazing! It is a self contained unit for the pedals and the master cylinder... Build so you can use factory model a pedals with your Flathead v8 and trans.. I may build a few more of these and offer them out..
Anyways we got that all fabbed up , heated and bent the pitman arm then tore the car back down for chassis paint and get the engine all shined up.

We spent all day on the motor. Carefully cleaning and regasketing. We used the incorrect green. It was an oliver tractor green . It's too light.. So YES we know the color is incorrect . But it's what we chose .
    I have More pics tomorrow

Still looking for wide five drums for the front for hydraulic brakes.. We borrowed a set of mechanical drums for rollers

I slapped a Fenton intake I had on there but we decided that the original aluminum one is the one we will use. I want to stay with one trouble free carb and an original oil bath air cleaner. We gutted it and made it take a filter element

Great job - the chop looks great.

It's going to look great when you're finished.

All blown apart, sandblaster is coming Thursday morning to do a whole slew of parts.. It will be in the paint booth all weekend getting a nice shiney coat of black. I somehow seemed to fit these 3 cars in the garage and I have another sedan coming next week that we are going to drop down a few inches . The suspension, not the roof! It's already been done

  14. That pedal setup is real slick! I wish I would have done something similar on my roadster.

You are moving right along on this one and making a whole lot of procrastinators (my self included) look really bad.

    Thanks!
It's been one of those things I have wants to try so we just started welding brackets together and it came out great.. I was a little worried about the extended clutch arm tube, but it works smooth as butter! I just love the look of the original model a pedals

We have been working on my 34 more than anything . But today, in the blizzard we managed to get the frame all done. Fired the heat in the garage and got it to about 65, we did use some filler for the side rails since it was pitted bad after cleaning.. So once that was all smoothed out it was time for paint. When it comes comes to chassis I use dp-90 to seal it up then a good coat of Rustoleum to make it shiney. I'm not a fan of base clear on a chassis. Atleast on a car that will have the wheels driven off it, rain or shine

We are also changing engine colors again...... Someone found a darker more original style green ..
We should have engine back in chassis later tonight

Man that's a shame more people probably liked his truck more than your model a, but I guess traditional cars are built with parts that you have available and don't cost a lot.

That doesn't make sense.... This is his model a, and was his truck , my brother... He wanted a traditional rod not a rat rod. Rat rods are built from shit you have laying around and don't cost a lot.

Like Larry said about the body, all those parts look a lot better coming together as a sweet hot rod than scattered around my garage.

  28. so, just exactly how many hours are in your days? cause i dont see how you get this much done in normal time.

I didn't mean to piss you off, you said that you had a model a and you used a frame that you already had, parts that you have laying around always come in handy no matter what shape there in. Not trying to cause problems.
