This is a vintage style AV8 hot rod built by Rob Paul in Green Bay. Rod and Custom Magazine 2012 October cover issue with a full feature inside. Hot rod project was started in 2011 and displayed at the Detroit Autorama in 2012 with Gene Winfield signing the dash. This is an original steel Ford roadster body with a lot of vintage parts. Body Original 1929 Roadster body with some patch panels. Chopped stock windshield posts and frame. 1934 Ford truck dash grafted to a stock dash rail. Original deck lid skin punched with traditional 3" louvers. The body was stripped and metal finished. It was painted a PPG two stage copper Chrysler Mango Tango pearl accented with Cool Vanilla and chrome. Original 1932 Grill with copper tubing overflow and 1950 Pontiac tail lights. Removable oak wooden floors and hand hammered copper transmission cover with copper thumb screws. Frame Stamped 1932 Ford rails. Gennie 32 K-member with rebuilt Gennie 32 Pedals. Stock Model A front and rear cross members and springs. The frame is inset boxed from the original 1932 K-member back. Front End Dropped Gennie 32 axle with modified original 1934 wishbone. 1946 Ford spindles and juice brakes. F-1 shock mounts and tube shocks. Rebuilt Model A spring with Model A shackles and stock spring perches. All wear parts re-bushed and rebuilt. Plenty of speed holes in the front axle. Rear End 1939 Ford Banjo rear-end. Shortened torque tube and driveshaft with 3.78 gears. Original Model T rear spring. 1940 Ford juice brakes. Engine Rebuilt 1946 59A Flathead V-8. This is a factory relieved block with a .060 over. Original Edmunds heads and Thickstun PM-7 intake topped with some chrome Stromberg 97's. The crab distributor was rebuilt by Bubba's in Indianapolis. New leak less water pump. Re-cored and chopped Model A radiator. 1936 Ford generator converted to 12 volts. The headers are constructed from a 1936 Ford driveshaft, then metal finished, chromed and ceramic coated on the inside. Transmission 1939 Ford rebuilt three-speed bolted to a new 10" clutch and pressure plate. Original push button Ford emergency brake. Wheels/Tires 16”x4” Ford wheels up front and 16”x4.5" Ford wheels in the rear. 7.00x16” rear and 5.50x16” front. Firestone deluxe whitewalls with tubes. Original Ford V8 hubcaps and trim rings. Interior Upholstered tuck and roll pearl white vinyl interior by Westminster Auto Upholstery and seat bench from Hot Rod Seats. Vintage aircraft lap belts. Original 1934 Steward Warner speedometer centered with Stewart Warner tachometer, temperature and oil pressure gauges. Original 1940 Ford steering wheel and horn button with a 1948 Ford F-1 steering box. Other Details Car wiring harness was made from all cloth and asphalt covered wire loom. Under the dash, there is a pair of Pioneer™ speakers with PEI balanced dome tweeters, ferrite magnets & IMPP composite cone woofers powered by a mini high-output 300 watt custom amplifier along with a 150 watt eight inch Kicker Hideaway compact powered subwoofer in the trunk. Reclaimed cylinder tank holds about 12 gallons. The dash is autographed by Gene Winfield. This hot rod is a great bare bones traditional AV8 roadster.
