I picked up a full fender set used and they delivered today. The splash aprons are fiberglass and torn up where they mount between the body and frame (which I knew before purchase). My question is, will they still mount up and hold or should I pick up a new pair? Speedway sells the pair for $200 shipped. received_360926684757115.jpeg

They need to extend far enough to mount and overlap on top of the frame. I’d look into the metal repro instead of glass since you’ll need to get a set.

Bummer, I figured that. The speedway set are metal.

Short of calling Speedway Motors, it looks from an old catalogue I have that Model T aprons are glass but looking at Model A stuff they appear to be steel unless there has been a change.
My buddy purchased a steel pair back in 2016 if I recall correctly...
I'm figuring that the price would still be about $200

Be prepared for a bit of bodywork to get the repros to fit correctly. My brother had a set of repros years ago that took me more time to fit to his original fenders than it took us to straighten the dings in the fenders themselves. Test fit everything before any paint.

Also, realize mine are 5” longer than stock.
To put it mildly I was delighted.
