What an awesome build!!!! Looks like you have all the right parts!!

Why is the concrete removed and wood planks added in the floor?

Don't forget to check the BOTTOM of the bearing surface on the axle housings as all wear occurs there rather than up top. Since you whacked off the spring mounts you can turn the housings or change side for side to get a smooth surface on the downside if necessary.

Nice start! You mentioned the flanged shaped to fit. What was the process on this as far as is the flange angled to fit the a frame taper ? I will be following your build for sure.

  18. Here is a few pictures of the body... its needs some minor fixing.

  19. Now for a little carnage...courtasy of a fork lift a long time ago...
The rear driver door is in a bind and will not close. the rear of the body needs to be tweeked about a 1/4 of an inch so the door will close.

Awesome! Something like that is on my "project" wishlist, for sure. I'll be following your updates!

Also, that pic of your son is awesome. You better watch out for him... he looks like he could be a menace behind the wheel of that thing. :D

  24. Point taken, Thanks for the heads up!:D

  25. I can't take credit for the flange, Mickey used a paper template in the inner frame. he transfered it over the the flange and started to cut away at the shape with a grinder until it fit the frame. it came out of a "27" T pick up hes building only to take place of a new box he got from Sac. Vintage ford.

  26. Ha! You know it. Ive allready told him that if he's a good boy and doesnt hassle his Papa... He can have it when he starts to drive. Of course... contigent. But right now he tells everyone that hes got a hot rod. Its cool.
