I was gonna use it for wall or yard art, but got to thinking what a waste. I am thinking on a roadster pickup at this time. I started on the doors with all the braces, and moved on to the hinges so far I have them hung on the cowl. All the metal so far is old discards.

  4. Saw this on the Bowtie, put me down for watching. After what you did with the Buick, this should be a walk in the park. :)

Nice. I wish I had that much to work with, but I'm not complaining. Good luck with it.

I went to a swap meet today and got a bunch of body panels and assorted nice fenders to start the build of the rear of the body IMG_20170128_133406.jpg IMG_20170128_133145.jpg IMG_20170128_133208.jpg

Thanks. I will have to cut some of the panels down to make them look like they belong on the dodge roadster cowl, probably 6 inches narrower, but the fenders and other parts if I use them should fit pretty good. I am trying to make the whole thing look as if it came from the factory, but step it up a notch. I am gonna tread lightly on this build also. wish me luck.

  18. I really like the shape of the early twenties cowls. I have been trying to purchase one from a friend but no luck yet.
What did you use to shape the doors ? Are they flat or did you put a crown in them.
    Thanks George

I looked at that pile of panels as well. But then decided against yet another pile of project in my yard.

The doors are crowned, and follow the shape of the cowl towards the rear. I made the a and b portion of the doors with 14 guage steel in the same shape as the hinge portion on the cowl this created the curve I needed for the door skins then tacked it all together while folding the metal over on the top portion of the door. I have decided to contiue with a roadster pickup design as I cut the 28 chevy parts to make them fit to the dodge cowl i I will post pictures of the progress.

I worked on the rear section of the dodge roadster, by cutting up the 28 chevy quarters and shrinking thr rear pan from the chevy 5 inches to fit the narrower dodge cowl Then I mocked it all up to check how it looks, a View attachment 3441364 View attachment 3441365 nd fits. I picked up at our annual swap meet today a new model A bed so I don't have to fabricate one. The price was about 1/3 what they normally go for. The tail gate is old but in good condition, I Will have to take the ford script off, and a friend Tfoch suggested I script it with the word GHOST on the back. Sounds good. I got me a 29 chevy chassis off of craigs list. The guy thought it was a 26 because it was hiding under this old hay rack platform that was added about 50 years ago. It should be the proper wheel base for my dodge roadster IMG_20170226_120752.jpg IMG_20170226_133326.jpg IMG_20170226_135430.jpg

I have found and either bought or traded for all the suspension parts. Front suspension, nine inch lincoln versaille axle, triangulated 4 link, and all the rest. A buddy dropped off a small replica of a 29 ford roadster, and now I have my inspiration for the final look of the build. With a few differences of course.
