  2. while the Chevy 283 often gets credited for "the first engine to hit 1 hp per cubic inch", its a seemingly little known fact that the Chrysler 300B beat them to it by a full model year! The 1956 Chrysler 300B makes 355 hp out of 354 cubic inches.

The models are amazing enough in detail, but look at the backgrounds.

I've followed Stoke on IG for a while and it just amazes me some of the stuff he makes. The details are unbelievable.

You're technically correct, but the standard engine installed in most 300Bs was the 340hp version. The optional 355hp engine was pretty rowdy, with 10:1 compression and a bigger solid lifter cam. It was more of an "in the know option" for factory-backed racers to compete in stock classes. Very few if any actually ended up on the street. :)

Chevrolet made a big deal of advertising their optional FI 283, but the '57 Desoto Adventurer was quietly the first American car built with 1hp per ci as standard equipment (345hp 345ci).

Maybe they didn't think it was a big deal since the FI '55 Mercedes 300SL had 1.3hp per ci (240hp 180ci) :D

The 300B model and the photography are amazing!

Smoke and mirrors I say! It has to be a trick, there's no way that car is a model. :)

Built models as a kid that I was really proud of. Have no clue how to create one to this level. Outstanding !!

  17. I built many model cars years ago. I was in awe of builders of much higher quality models than I was capable of.

I built hundreds, possibly thousands of models as a teen into my early 20's. Never, ever came close to that level of detail. Very impressive.
