It would be fitting, a actual " Taxi" sign on roof!

Here are a couple photos of that car from "back in the day" - I have more somewhere.

I pulled these from my website, from two articles where I posted many photos that I received from the widow of Stan Ochs. Stan was a local Portland-area hot rodder that took a lot of photos throughout his lifetime. You can see more of them here:

One Widow's Trash.. – ironandsteele and here: One widow's trash II (More photos from a life-long hot rodder) – ironandsteele

There are probably 30 or so other articles / blog posts if you get bored:

I recognize that Deuce tub from first issue of " Street Rod" magazine, as well as their Model A panel that Russ Meeks worked on! Some amazing cars in there.....

Yes, there are a lot of great PNW cars in those photos. I have hundreds and hundreds more that I haven't posted yet. Lots of awesome history.

Looking at gas class rules, NHRA added H/Gas in 1963. It called for 11 + lb per c.i. sixes, flatheads or straight 8s, & pre-1960 4 cylinder engines. The class break stayed the same until 1968 (when I, J & K/Gas classes were added), except that 4 cylinder engines weren't mentioned in the 1964 rule book.

This has been stewing on my brain for a while, if only I had more room.
This little Austin is sitting out bush and these little Hemis are sitting in the shed, along with a toploader four speed and enough 9" parts to complete the drive train

  15. Welcome back to Oregon! The kids and I made the annual trip up to the show on Friday. That car looks like a time capsule. Hopefully somebody can snag it and get it back at the track.
