Nate is a great photographer and somehow he captures the perfect image I swear he could take one picture of the gravel on the side of a road and it would tell a story you could write a novel about he just has a photographic eye that no matter what the subject is he captures it perfectly

The pics give me a feel for what it would have been like in the hey day of the gasser wars . Thank you Ryan and Nate. Ryan, that lead pic of the timing light and rear shot of those cars would be a spot on pic to use in your future advertising.

I'd say he got it right all the way down to the grainy quality of the pics that were in the early rod magazines. Pictures like these are what got me hooked. Looking at them brings back the memories of the excitement, the sounds and the smells of the race track. My thanks to Nate.

Wow! What a new (old) way of seeing things. At next year's drags I'm going to walk around with glasses that make me see in black and white.

    Sweet pics.

Definitely a good sample of how special the HAMB Drags are every year.

Wow, those are fantastic, They make you think you are looking at photos out of a file cabinet that were actually taken in the 50's or early 60's rather than last weekend.
The black and white and Texture of the photos really capture the essence of the event.
They probably make a few guys who left early wish they had stuck it out too.

Thank you and please thank Nate Luke for transporting me back to the late 50's and my first trip to the drags at Sanford, Me. I got my license in Nov '61 and was tuning a C/G in the summer of '62. Who knew we were making history. Just a bunch of dumb kids that wanted to go fast. One thing you need for next year is vintage banners and poster from your sponsors. It just adds to the nostalgia.

  23. Wow! Thanks you to Ryan for posting these and thank you to Nate for the great pics. Those are amazing-hope he’s around next year and I have just 1 color of primer!

Actually, looking more like the Drag News era, late 50's-early '60s.

  28. There’s a lot to learn from these photographs, about both photography and what the early days of this sport that we all love looked like. I shall study them and learn from them, for they are extremely well done.

  29. Man those are great! We talked to him a bit at the drags. Super nice guy too! Is he on the H.A.M.B.?

He said he brought you (@Ryan) a box of images from last year but I forgot to go through them. :(

Thanks for sharing those @Ryan. Nate is definately One who has a great hand and eye for capturing the moments that make for a great picture and that truly is an Art.

There is of course, the technical understanding of utilizing the Cameras many complex features to achieve that Canvas that we admire and after visiting Nate's Website it further solidifies his status as an accomplished Photographer in every sense of the word...
