    That’s Rudy’s 5w. It’s a pretty special survivor. I should shoot that one.

I prefer candid as-found shots to sunset glamour shots. If there is grinder dust flying, even better. I've always preferred to see the inner workings of stuff than the shiney polish on top.

(Hasn't anybody ever told Mr. Tardel that you can't bolt an early flathead to an engine stand by the bellhousing? He must be a real newby.)

I got Iron on DVR, will make a point of watching
So Ryan, did you warn Keith that you were coming over and he 'placed' all that cool stuff for you, was it really a found shoot or was it Keith seeing your mopey face and he set the stage??
Just busting your lens,,, great stuff, I think with the twilight of my shooting coming soon, I will transition back to film. Digital is a great tool with no feeling, it spoils the photographer.

  13. HAHAHAHA I thought the same thing. Great pics @Ryan should have included the video of your "encounter" to add some levity to the post:D.

good shots of a good shop -water/rain drops can create a great accent to shots of parts, etc outside

  15. He seems like the type to shoot back.
    Oh wait, never mind.

That shop has a great vibe, shown very well in your pictures.

Interesting shots, anyone know where Keith gets those 'commercial Cap Screws' he used on those Federal-Mogul heads?
I'm nearly ready for some flathead head bolts, those look like just the thing!

Thanks for the visual art experience...refreshing and top notch as always.

Such a cool shop. It's modern transformed by history within and it works.

There is a heck of a lot of respect within those walls...and you captured some of it. Thanks for sharing.

  25. I love those Grace & Co air Cleaners. They are just so right. So glad I got some for my 39.

    pines trim 36.jpg
That has the somewhat rare Pines Trim to look like a 36/37 Cord. If you enlarge the pic, you will see it did have the smooth hood ornament up top, that I believe was part of the Pines kit? But, they added a Buick ornament straddled over it, you can see how they fit it on top of the smooth one, if you enlarge that pic.

I had a junked "ocean-front find" 36 Convertible Sedan over 45 years ago that had the same Pines trim and the smooth ornament, that's why I think it was part of the Pines kit.

  28. They are the coolest things around Man!! They are 100% hand made by a hot rodder for hot rodders. Chris the owner of the company makes every one by hand, stamps them himself. He had a little write up in the back of Rodders Journal a while back too. They really are just the nicest quality of any air cleaner I have ever had. I like them better than my original Edmunds air cleaners on my Stude motor. He makes them in bare steel, black powder coat or chrome. I added the link to his web site below. Get some, they rule.
