I must have a hole in my Hot Rod Soul, as I missed the early drag scene. In the mid-60's I was a transplanted SoCal Boy in the Mid-West (Sioux Falls So Dak). And I don't remember ever seeing a real 'dragster', except once on a trip to the 'big' city of Minneapolis. At least I had some dirt track hard top racing.
Motor City was my home track in the early 70s I ran either z stock or c gas Thank for the memories Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Summer evenings at the drag strip.... the smells, burning rubber, the high test fuel, even the burgers and dogs over at the concession stand cooking. You brought back some great memories for me..
Thanks Joey. I know your dad from when he worked at GM. He's a very nice person and he reminds me of my dad....not really the drag racing type, but had a son that loves hot rods and drag racing. Glad to hear he took the time to feed your dreams just like my dad with me.
