10K Tach on a Flathead?

Found this on the dash of the Diamond T. Somebody had a sense of humor and maybe an inner desire to wind up the old Hercules like the cars on the salt.

 

Maybe they meant 10 rpm!

 

my first tach looked just like that...

 

A 10,000 RPM Flathead? Ha Ha Ha......thats about 4500 RPM past shrapnel!

 

Did I just hear a explosion? HRP

 

...Flathead?....10,000 rpm tach? That's when you see God....

 

And He'd advise you need to reset a dipswitch on the tach---10K, naw.

 

That is right there with the 140 mph speedo in my work truck!

 

maybe it was a 2-cycle engine?

 

Ive read Navarro would spin his blower motor in the T to 7k...it was destroked...
