Technical 10 Leaf Rear Spring on a S/C

On a 10 leaf Tudor spring, how many should I remove to drop a Sport Coupe 1.5/2 inched? I was thinking of removing the four middle ones, would that work?

 

I'm not familiar with the "A" springs, but have had good luck on lowering mid 30's Fords by removing every other spring. For example, in your spring pack I would start with spring 1 (top/smallest spring) and remove 1,3,5 & 7. This will also work to soften the ride as well as lower the vehicle.
