    The photo of the Talbot with Duntov sitting in it, It has a column lever with a button on it. Any idea what it did? shifter?

    The Wolcott steering was probably done with a bell crank to reduce bump steer, I suspect. Looks like shifter to me on the Talbot but I really don't know.

    Given I'm from Colorado, my favorite is the D-C Special (Denver-Chicago Trucking) from the early 60s. I was at a car show where the restored car was on display, talking with Bob Olds, who painted and crewed on the car at Indy in the 60s, when another person said the car wasn't painted right, it was too dark. I looked at Bob, and just walked away.

    Those big ol Mercedes they brought to Indy in the late 40s had the motors set ka-ka.

  9. Cleaner is better, isn't it? The later Watsons with air scoops etc are not as striking.
