I'm currently going thru the same with my 62 Impala...I found a NOS switch and cable on the bay, which hasn't arrived. I did a little research and wondering if the turn signal switch assembly from a 62 Corvette ( newer style) would work on the Impala column ? This question is for Squirrel

I thought the 62 vette used the same turn signal switch found in 53-4 cars and 54-56 trucks? according to the parts places, it does....

this won't work on a 62 Belair without redesigning the steering column.

The brake light and the turn light use the same filament in the bulb and wire to the turn switch and the right and left brake lights get power from the same wire to the turn switch That pretty much leaves the switch.

  5. Realign the metal wire that runs through the tab on the switch, once it in neutral postion set it to that. You will have to to have to the key to the on position while moving the switch to find the center.
